In 1997 I earned my bachelor’s degree in biology from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. I then received my teaching credentials from Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. I moved to Cambridge from north central Ohio twenty-two years ago to marry my wife Heidi and begin my teaching career in Dorchester County Public Schools. For thirteen years I served as a teacher and administrator working at Cambridge South Dorchester High School, Sandy Hill Elementary School, Hurlock Elementary School, South Dorchester School, North Dorchester High School, and worked for a time at the Board of Education as the Supervisor of Science and Physical Education.
From 2008-2012 I served on Cambridge City Council representing Ward 3. During that period, I was simultaneously working on the administrative side of education, and I chose to focus my attention there. A part of me always hoped that the timing would again be right to serve on city council. In the years that followed, my working career afforded me additional opportunities to work with families and the public in the role of Director for the Recreation and Parks Department of Dorchester County. I have also gained valuable experience in the private sector as well working in the utility inspection industry.
Throughout my years in Cambridge, it has been a privilege to work and volunteer in a variety of capacities. I have participated in local boards and with Heidi, we have volunteered for numerous charitable events. I look forward to again serving the city as a member of council and working with our community to make Cambridge healthier, more economically vibrant, and capable of reaching our full potential in every possible way.
