The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Dorchester County. which will remain in effect until 1 p.m. Thursday, January 4. This storm has the potential for 4-8 inches of snow and gusting winds exceeding 35 miles per hour. Dorchester County Public Schools are closed. Please continue monitoring your local weather stations and the National Weather Service for updates.

Dorchester County and the City of Cambridge have staff maintaining roads, but the gusting conditions will continue to make road conditions hazardous. City offices are still open, with a Liberal Leave Policy in place for city employees.

The Maryland State Highway Administration has placed Dorchester County under its Snow Emergency Plan protocol. Any vehicles on the road must be equipped with all-weather/snow tires or be equipped with chains. The Snow Emergency Plan also prohibits parking on snow emergency routes. It is urged that cars on these routes consider alternate parking locations. The following streets shall be classified as snow emergency routes, and parking shall be restricted:
